Mombie Daze

We had a hard day.

We had a bad night of sleep followed by a day of bad naps (team no naps - amiright? ๐Ÿ˜…). To say I was tired, would be an understatement. I was a complete zombie (mombie?). I felt frustrated, irritated, and completely empty of joy. The last thing I wanted to do was open my bible... but I did.

I read some scripture.

“Her children rise up, and call her blessed” Proverbs 31:28

“As a mother comforts her son, so I will comfort you, and you will be comforted.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭66:13‬ ‭

“Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:9‬ ‭

I looked up some inspirational Christian quotes.

“God: I didn’t ask you to be her. I asked you to be you.”

“Girl, get up and try again! Those are tiny problems. You serve a BIG GOD!” - the makers map

“Pray about it as much as you think about it”

I turned on my favorite Christian playlist (I’ll be happy to share my whole playlist if you’re interested!).

“Graves Into Gardens” by Brandon Lake

“Waymaker” by Leeland

“Everything” by Lauren Daigle

I’ll admit, at first, my heart was hard. I didn’t want to hear anything positive. I just wanted to wallow in my shallow valley (And that’s what the devil wanted me to do too).

But, instead, I chose to listen to the Holy Spirit who was calling me to higher ground. He knew what my heart needed. He knew I needed to be reminded that, “even when I don’t see it, He’s working, even when I don’t feel it, He’s working. He never stops working”

Within an hour, my heart was pulled out of the shallows. My spirit saw the sun on the horizon. My mind was not threatened by this hard day, but instead, thankful for it!

These hard days are when God teaches me the most.

We can easily get caught up in days, hours, and minutes. Being a mama is an easy way to get overwhelmed! But God is a father to us all FIRST! He knows our struggles. He knows our challenges. He’s been there and done that! To think that we are alone in our hard day(s) is silly. God is right there with us. He has traveled this path before us and He is walking ahead of us gently guiding us and leading us through these unknown waters.

Maybe you’re having a hard day. Maybe you’ve had hard days! Or maybe tonight/tomorrow ends up being one of “those days”, but let me encourage you! God does not want you to feel overwhelmed. He does not want you to be angry, frustrated, or completely out of joy. He wants us to overflow with all his goodness and mercy! But we have to understand that we can’t be anything good without Him! We are his creation and we always need to look to our creator for the ones He created us to raise!

Hang in there mama! I’m here for you always. I’m praying for you and with you! Thinking of you and praying you have lots of good days with your littles.

Also, I’d love to know your favorite scripture or song that gets you through those hard days! ❤️
